VR has been gaining momentum for quite a while now and Disney is getting in on the action. Opening for the holiday season of 2017 at Downtown Disney in California and Disney Springs in Orlando is a brand new virtual reality experience called Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire. ILMxLAB, in collaboration with THE VOID, have created what they’re calling a “hyper-reality” experience. We’re guessing this means the use of not only sight and sound, but also touch and smell. Executive Vicki Hobbs Beck says they’re planning on invoking “all the senses.” What about tasting?
Anyway, from the looks of the artist rendering, K-2SO will be leading you through a battle on the planet of Eadu. What does Eadu smell like? I guess you’ll have to wait until this holiday season to find out. Click the link below for more info.
